Mercedes AMG GT

The German automobile company Mercedes-Benz has been known as one of the most reliable car manufacturers all across the globe. Not only in sedans and SUVs, the manufacturer has its presence in trucking industry as well. Mercedes-Benz can also be considered the threshold of luxury in the automobile industry. The car company has shown its presence in the sports car world and has been quite successful in doing so as well.
The Mercedes AMG GT is the second sports car completely designed and produced by Mercedes, after the iconic SLS AMG. The AMG GT line became popular since the day it was unveiled in front of the audience in October 2014, in Paris motor show. Car enthusiasts seemed quite impressed with the specifications of the car and the internet was filled with the images of the machine. Everyone in the industry went gaga over the Mercedes-AMG GT line.

Mercedes AMG GT was available in two variants on the day it was revealed in the motor show. The two variants were GT and GT S. these models went on sale for the first time in March 2015 and became one of the best-selling coupe sports car from Mercedes Benz in a very short span of time. The motor car gained more popularity when the audience came to know that formula one driver Lewis Hamilton himself assisted in the development of the machine. The demand for AMG GT line kept increasing and the motor company Mercedes-Benz introduced another racing variant, a GT3 for the AMG GT series.
The car has been in talks since the time it was revealed, way back in 2014. Customers always wish to get a chance to have a hands-on experience inside the AMG GT series. The demand for the GT series has not reduced in the market and seems to grow quite a lot over audience with the span of time. Car enthusiasts kept demanding more and Mercedes Benz always made up to their expectations. A high performance model, Mercedes AMG GT R was introduced to the public in 2016. It was and still is, arguably the most famous model in the AMG GT series.
AMG GT Specifications.
The AMG GT series is available as a 2-door liftback coupe as well as a 2-door roadster. The rear wheel drive gives the sports car more traction which makes drifting quite easy. This machine boasts of a 4.0 L twin-turbo V8 which is a beast in its segment. The dual clutch 7-speed AMG transmission takes the performance of the car to another level. The front-mid engine of the machine helps it maintain the centre of gravity while the car is flying on the highways or even autobahns. The chassis and body are made out of aluminium alloys to reduce the weight while maintaining the strength of the vehicle at the same time.
In a road test performed by Car and Driver, the GT S accelerated from 0-97 km/h in just 3.0 seconds. The top speed from the test was recorded to be 311 km/h. The AMG GT series doesn’t seem to slow down even after 4 years of its release. The sales keep increasing and so does the production of the machine. A total of 1277 AMG GT vehicles were sold in 2015 in the US alone. The number increased to 1525 in 2018.
Mercedes has always been known to live up to the expectations of the public. Fortunately, AMG GT series is much better than just the expectations set by the readers. The thrill we experience while sitting in an AMG GT cannot be explained using words. AMG GT line sets a bar for all the automobile manufacturers who wish to compete and outgrow the brand Mercedes Benz. We expect to see many more successors of the AMG GT series in the near future.
